Chalet Utopia

Chalet Utopia is a lovely place to stay! Location and views are superb, and from the road from Valberg, the chalet is a very striking sight. It is very close to the chairlift des Eguilles, for easy access to the ski slopes, (although it is not possible to buy lift passes from there, they need to be purchased from the main office in town or bought online in advance). It is possible to walk & part-ski to that chair lift. The chalet itself is very comfortable; all of the bedrooms are well equipped, modern and en-suite. The kitchen and dining area are perfect for family dining, and the luxury of the hot-tub, sauna, log fire and games in the games room made it a great choice for our two families sharing on this ski holiday. We received a warm welcome from Laurent and a good explanation of everything, and a very welcome gift from the owner which was a lovely gesture.

A couple of minor points which by no means spoiled our stay, but would have made it 100% perfect: - a couple of electrical items did not work (kettle, bedside lamp) - the bedding for the sofa bed in the games room was not large enough for the mattress / quilt provided. - the safe was not available to use even though it was included in the description of the property. For information - the access to the property is a very steep driveway, which was fine for us to both drive up and walk up. However with snow it could be a bit tricky, or for the less mobile walking up and down.
