The Orkney is in a beautifully restored old building though it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Location couldn’t be better as it’s close to sights and restaurants. Our room was really special (211). If they could make just a few improvements it’d be a truly great hotel. No amenities were available in the bathroom; most places offer at least a sliver of hand soap. Towels were small. Coffee/tea service was not refreshed during our 3-day stay. Usually no one available at the front desk. Complementary breakfast was just ok, very understaffed. Get an espresso machine. Please add location of the parking lot to the hotel description or welcome email. Note, there are lots of stairs.

We spent 2 nights here recently with large suitcases. We managed all the stairs but be aware there is no elevator.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice hot shower.
The bar area was good and we enjoyed a nice evening meal. Breakfast was delicious served in the dining room. The poor staff seemed very overworked and looked like they could have done with some more help, but they were nice and friendly.
The hotel is in a great location and we would recommend it for a short stay.
