Booked one night here last minute to break up a long journey. I was a little apprehensive on arrival as the hotel is clearly being renovated currently. There is no reception desk, just a self-serve booking system which was very easy to use - and it seems the staff office is just around the corner as someone appeared to welcome and help me a few moments after arriving. The room itself was beautifully done with a country theme which I thought was very pretty. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I had a great night's sleep! The bathroom was modern and the shower was amazing! The facilities (tea, coffee, etc) we're fairly standard - I'd have liked to see a couple of herbal teabags in the room but I always bring my own so it wasn't an issue! It just would've been a nice touch to find a bedtime tea...if that's not too picky! I didn't stop for breakfast as I needed to leave super early to get home. The room was very quiet and peaceful and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, even though it was a very brief one. The location on the edge of the Peak District is great for getting both into the Peaks for walking, to Chatsworth for a visit, or into chesterfield town centre. All in, I'd love to stay here again and would love to come back and try out the adjoining pub for dinner/breakfast too!
