This was so wonderful that we looked at booking again in the summer! So wonderful to be inside the history that you hear so much about as you're walking about Edinburgh. Royal Mile literally 5 steps away, all museums less than 15 minutes walk. We barely found ourselves being further than 10 minutes away from the flat. However, a major issue was the lack of rope for the bannister as you're walking up the stairs. Yes, it's really cool to be walking up a stone spiral staircase and feeling like you're back in time, but there's no need to follow the same historical safety procedures - it was just really hard to safely get things up and down. Another issue is that we were trapped outside the flat for about 45 minutes praying that someone would reply to our email. There's no way to directly contact them, so when we got to the flat and couldn't get in, it became impossible to find someone to contact. However, as soon as they did look at their emails they responded - we were however desperate at that point. This all being said, the sofa beg is mega comfy, the flat is warm, the window view is picturesque, the bathroom is modern and the whole place is quiet. Can barely believe this is just off the royal mile! The little touches are just wonderful - a little welcome pack, tea, coffee and sugar waiting for us. There's enough cooking equipment for a couple of people, with a microwave and a fridge. Thank you!
