I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. Highly recommend

Accommodation in Paris is expensive, it is what it is, but this hotel was a comfortable 2 night stay for us. Unfortunately the bath leaked but we were able to dry this up with the generous amount of towels. Close to everything you could need, 10 mins from Gare du Nord, friendly staff. Would recommend.

We were upgraded to triple room since their other twin rooms were booked. All good

I booked a comfort single room that in its description on both the official L&M website as well as Agoda’s states Chambre Confort Single En Solo, Literie : 1 lit double 160×190/200 ou 1 lit simple 90×190 Occupation : 1 personnes. Crystal clear: the bed can either be a single or a double. I requested the double bed both via my Agoda booking as well as by email directly to L&M and Jason replied confirming that ‘ Yes no problem. We will give you a double room J’. When I arrived late on Friday 6th at around 2230 or so, I asked if my room had a double bed as I was promised and things went downhill from there. Andrea (Andria?) in reception told me that I was allocated a single bed since I had booked a single room and if I wanted a double bed, I should have booked a double room and they were fully booked so there was nothing that she could do. Nothing would convince her otherwise. She insisted that the double bed allocation was down to availability but I re-explained that this was not the case with Jason’s reply nor indeed on their own website. Had I know it was subject to availability, I would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. The whole ‘you should have booked a double room’ discussion went on for quite a while, not the best way to start a short stay, so I asked to see the room. The single bed in question was at least a full single so feeling exhausted, I said I would stay in the room but could I be moved next day to a double room. In the end, I opted to stay in the room since on my second night post the Paralympics, I knew I would be returning very late pm so that would not have been the time to change rooms. It was by far not the best night’s sleep I have ever had thanks to the smaller bed and not helped by the room next door smoking away and making loud banging noises at 0100 until late into the night. The room itself was quite comfortable, a good size for central Paris with the bonus of a small fridge, with decent air con (but set and controlled centrally not individually), quite a nice shower room with just enough fresh smelling toiletries for my short stay. The location of the hotel is next to a bistro and some other takeaways and as others have said, you will see a couple of dubious characters around but I never felt unsafe and the area is full of a wide variety of restaurants for every budget and taste. The walk from Gare du Nord was not the most pleasant but as single female traveller, I felt safe enough not to need a taxi. Gare de l’Est is a couple of minutes on foot which was very convenient for the Paralympics. Breakfast at the hotel was abundant with perfectly boiled eggs, decent sausages, scrambled eggs, a good selection of charcuterie, yoghurts, pastries etc, certainly more than enough to keep you going. The breakfast room is quite bright and airy. There were other glitches such as my room card stopped working when I first returned late in the evening but the receptionist soon brought me a new card to use. There was also a lovely gesture of kindness on my last day when I got back to the hotel exhausted and sweaty from my long day out and the kind receptionist came over with a clean towel so I could refresh myself. That was massively appreciated especially since I hadn’t asked for the towel, it was just instinctive kindness. Would I stay there again? I honestly don’t know. There is more going for the hotel than there is against it but the ‘welcome’ was certainly sub par.
