Lovely hotel. A real old fashioned. hotel built in 1874. It has red carpet all the way up the stairs & in the corridors & you still get service, like from a bygone age. They give you a welcome drink. I have never been able to sample breakfast, as I am always getting an early train, but one day hopefully! It is in a great location, right opposite the train station, perfect for me. The rooms are great, with a fridge & kettle. You can order a mini bar, if you like from reception. Great hotel, one of my go to hotels.

I loved this hotel. It is one of the rare hotels left from a bygone era, especially with the red carpet going up the stairs. It made me feel special, & I felt at home immediately at check in. The staff are all really nice. They went out of their way to welcome me. I even got a welcome drink, a very nice touch! The rooms & all really nice, even a kettle plus a mini bar if needed. They have fridges anyway, which I always look for plus the kettle. All in all a great hotel, which I will return to! The best thing for me as I cannit drive is that its totally opposite the train station, literally 1 minute, as I had a 6.40am train. Great hotel, lived it! Thanks Linda

Across the road from railway station. Very quiet hotel with comfortable beds. Will return to this hotel.
