Hotel Artus Paris

Wonderful hotel in an amazing and exciting area. Rooms bigger than most French hotels and staff very friendly and welcoming. Loved the area, restaurants, shops and walking distance to the Louvre and other attractions.

Great location in the heart of St Germain with easy access to restaurants, supermarket, shopping, gallery and metro. Only 5 minutes' walk across the Seine River to Musee du Louvre. Marie, at The Reception is very attentive and helpful for restaurant booking and everything you asked for assistance. For solo traveler is safe and sound. Highly recommended. Will come back for sure. On the 1st morning there after arriving exhausted, we got woken up with an extremely loud fire alarm going off. There was a notice near the lift but itnwas only put up the morning of the alarm which was a test. We were then woken again that night again at 1am with the fire alarm going off. The hotel blamed a child in the hotel for setting it off!? At 1am!? Then that same morning at 4am people were arguing in the street, then at 5am the street cleaner trucks were super loud outside. The day we left my son was so ill from allergies and no sleep that I asked to do late checkout. This was kindly granted...at €50 per hour!! I think booked an Uber taxinforn16.45 to take us to the airport. A driver came up to us and said you are waiting for taxi yes Simone and I said yes I are you the Uber. He said Im the driver and loaded us up. Uber takes your money off your bank account when you book so I had paid €51.82 for the Uber I had ordered. We get to the airport and the taxi driver says I need you to pay €80! Inwas shocked and said nonIve paid as usual for the Uber with my card throughnthenapp, its already paid and I showed him the payment. He then said oh no he isnt Uber but isnlnin fact the Hotel Artus private airport taxi driver and I owe €80! I said no I did not, call the Hotel. The guy at receptipn told me when I paid the €200 for 4 hours extra after checkout that it was his first day and when I said I mever booked this taxi of yours and wenthought he was Uber (because I asked if he was Uber and he said yes Im your driver), the reception guy said i need to speak to the manager. The Manager then told me I Had booked it. I said i had not and explained I'd booked and paid Uber on the app and had done this since arriving in Lyon a few days before. When I asked the hotel manager who I apparently booked this private taxi driver through he said it was the guy at reception and it seems he got confused as its his 1st day. He then got quite pushy and said pay ourndriver and claim back from Uber, no Uber has arrived here. So I said well I have showed your driver my bank statement where I have paid for the Uber which was under €52 and never would I pay nearly double forna taxi. I then said I will not fall for their scam and I walked off ! Lots of people and guides warn against this exact scam but one wouldn't expect it from a 4 star hotel!! Quite disgusted. I had a very ill child with me and had a taxi driver and hotel telling me to pay for something I didnt order. If you want a peaceful holiday, go elsewhere!

great location / close to the river / the big museums and Notre Dame lovely rooms / a bit old / charming decor super clean very noice staff excellent breakfast nice massage / sauna options very quiet laundry close bye can be expensive it's a nice place to stay.
