It's not bad for the money. Not so easy to find, also expect at least a 7 minute hike on a steep hill to get to the hotel. Beautiful view of the city and close enough to the old city.

The hotel is right in the middle of Lyon. It is a bit up a hill (as others have commented), but very close to all of the main tourist attractions, and close to a well-connected metro station for going further afield. The free parking (although limited) is a huge advantage. Of course the rooms are not exactly brand new, but for the price you pay and the size of the rooms, it is unbelievable value for money.

This older hotel gave off a 1980’s vibe but was just fine— not expensive, roomy (by French standards) and comfortable. It is located quite a ways up a rather steep grade so if you are mobility challenged you might want to look elsewhere. Breakfast (€11) was good, with a decent variety and friendly staff throughout. The area is a bit devoid of dining choices but on the other hand, it is quiet and overlooks the Rhône. I would definitely consider staying again.
