I liked the location...hilltop with views of Guanabara Bay from one side and Pao do Acucar from the other....place has,almost a feel of an castle with its huge tall stone walls...The owner Brian is a true gentleman who is,excellent in maintaining communication and very helpful in any situation. I felt at home. Well equipped kitchen..10 minutes walk down hill and you reach main Catete Street where you find all you need...short walk to Catete Metro Station or Gloria Metro (famous incredible sunday markets)...from Catete street shortcwalk to Flamengo beach with its,million dollar views inc. planes,taking off domestic Carlos,Dumont airport.
If uphill walk back home is too much for you just grab a,taxi. I enjoyed it and it helped me to burn some excessive fat ....i have not called a cab...even once...so its doable.
