The staff at reception were super helpful and friendly. We were very grateful to have two restaurant bookings made for us as we don't speak Italian. The hotel is well designed, incorporating the modern and the historic.

The hotel is located a short walk from the centre of Ferrara, and a 5 minute trip by taxi from the train station.
The hotel is mostly what you would expect from a four star hotel.
Many cafes and restaurants nearby - including an on-site restaurant that specialises in Sicilian cuisine.
The room layout on three levels was a bit of a surprise, and dragging luggage up to the third level is a bit of a strain if you have heavy luggage (we were on a month-long holiday so we did have heavy luggage). We were also a bit disappointed that so little kitchen equipment was provided - just a kettle, a few mugs and water glasses - no cuttlery, plates etc.
The TV provided italian TV and a single french Station, nothing in English etc.. The aircon was of limited functionality.

Location was excellent and the staff awesome. Nice breakfast and if you want great food, eat at Oleis right at the hotel. Would recommend and stay again.
