Unicorn Shelter Villa

The location is great! A short walk down the driveway onto one of the main strips of Seminyak. Such an easy place to stay right in the middle of everything that you need, Putu who came to make us breakfast each day (makes the best pancakes) was a delight and the manager Indah was quick with her responses and really helpful. As stated the main bedroom is downstairs, the second biggest room is upstairs with steepish stairs (not a problem for us) and the kids bunk room is located outside by the pool area. We didn’t feel comfortable with our 5yo sleeping out there so we hired a trundle bed for our room (there’s so much space in there) which was perfect for what we needed and she loved it. This place is so roomy, so comfortable and we would definitely book it again.

Good location walking distance to shops / restaurants but far enough away to reduce noise impact. Putu was amazing, in a few hours she provided amazing breakfast, did a clean up and was vey warm and welcoming.

The only downside was pool maintenance - it turned green twice and we couldn’t use. Needed to be flocked a couple times so we were without a pool for 2-3 days of stay. Probably needs a filter upgrade... We had rain but other villa we stayed at didn't have that problem.

The staff and the location

The stairs to the second floor were too steep and dangerous. The shower temperature control was poor.

Location was great for proximity to restaurants. It was a secluded spot so traffic noise was inperceptible. Putu cooked breakfast every day and was very pleasant to speak with, and accommodating of our group's requests. Indah was also very responsive to any concerns.

There was a septic smell from the upstairs ensuite suggesting there was no sewer trap on the fixtures. The pool was out of action for 4 of the 6 days we stayed as it was either brown, cloudy, or both. This was one of the main reasons we booked a villa so it was disappointing. The response from the property host was rapid on each request for service, even out of hours, but did not resolve the pool issues. The issue with the property is clearly with the property owners and not the staff working there.
