Lovely apartment with beautiful floors. high ceilings, large windows(doors) with the living room overlooking the river. Great location on the island between rivers allowing easy access to to all of Lyon’s highlights. While the apartment was tastefully furnished, we didn’t fear our toddlers trashing the place since there was so much open space. Our host was friendly and easy going. You do need to know to search for the name Ruchon when you access the intercom to be buzzed in.

We stayed in this apartment while we attended the Women's World Cup in Lyon. There was plenty of room for our group (2 parents, 2 grandparents, and 3 kids, ages 6, 10, and 13). The apartment is perfection. It is beautiful and clean and just plain wonderful. You have a great view of the river. You are walking distance to busier/more modern Lyon and just across the river from Old Lyon. We walked or metro'd everywhere from this location with no problem at all. Also, the service was impeccable. Jacques made sure we were met when we arrived (after a long day of travel). We were welcomed with a beautiful bottle of champagne. Also, we were in Lyon during the heat wave, but the apartment does not have air conditioning. I communicated with Jacques about this before arriving, and he made sure we had a new rotary fan in each bedroom. We were as comfortable as we could ever be thanks to those fans. I just couldn't thank him enough for being so responsive and thoughtful. We hope to go back to Lyon again someday, and we wouldn't say anywhere else. This apartment is worth every single penny and then some. We made so many good memories there--playing cards, making dinner, having croissant in the morning. It is just the perfect home away from home.And, we also got great advice from Jacques and his family regarding dinner. The restaurant just around the corner (Le Comptoir Abel) was amazing. The food and service were beyond. They made us feel like we were at home. So, if you are looking for a place to stay in Lyon, book this home right away. You will not be sorry. We already miss it so much!
