About this house rental
House "Old Abbey" is a new villa with pool, private garden completely fenced and a beautiful view over the green hills of the Val di Cornia. It is located in the countryside among olive groves only 1. 600 m. from the village of Monteverdi Marittimo, in a quiet but not isolated.
The sea with sandy beaches is 22 km.
The accommodation
The house of 100 square meters. it is built in Tuscan style with exposed beams. The garden with olive and cypress trees is 800 square meters, completely fenced. It consists of a kitchen, two double king size bedrooms, a bedroom with two single beds, three bathrooms with shower and a living area with a sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and an Italian-style coffee-maker.
The interiors are furnished with antiques.
Outside there are two panoramic verandas equipped with garden furniture and a laundry room with washing machine.
The rectangular swimming pool above ground 5x3 is for exclusive use.
It 'provides a "manual of the house" with useful information for the housing use.
Guests can consult guides, brochures and maps in order to better organize their vacation.
The country
Monteverdi Marittimo is a quaint little Tuscan village of medieval origins. In the village you can find grocery stores with local products,
pharmacy, a hardware store with various newspapers and articles, the bank with ATM, a bar and two restaurants with traditional menus of Tuscan cooking. It 'also a medical assistance.
In the summer months they are organized several town festivals where you can appreciate the flavors of the cuisine and friendly Tuscan hospitality.
Walking around
At 22 km you will find the sea with the sandy beaches of Marina di Castagneto Carducci. Other beautiful beaches are located in the Gulf of Baratti-Populonia, the long beach of Rimigliano and Sterpaia all within the naturalistic archaeological site of the "Park of the Val di Cornia".
Nearby you can visit Castagneto Carducci small village consisting of narrow alleys, beautiful squares and fine craft shops.
The precious little village of Bolgheri is situated along the famous cypress avenue of the famous poet Carducci.
San Vincenzo with the new marina is an excellent starting point to visit the most characteristic Tuscan archipelago.
Inland Suvereto is a picturesque medieval village still surrounded today by walls, a few steps from the Etruscan town of Populonia.
Campiglia Marittima is a medieval castle, which still leads through the three historic gates inserted into the walls.

We had a great time at the accommodation. Communication with the landlord was very good and the caretaker of the property - Paolo - was also super friendly and took care of all needs. The house has a gorgeous location and is equipped with everything you need. We spent 2 weeks here with 4 adults and 2 children. The house was very clean and well equipped. Each of the three spacious bedrooms has its own bathroom, each with toilet, bidet and shower. The property is spacious, very quiet and offers a fantastic view. The pool is also very nicely landscaped and maintained. We also enjoyed using the charcoal grill. Although the house is not equipped with air conditioning and we had 35 degrees in the second week, it was never too hot inside and we could sleep well. Only the electricity is a bit weak and fluctuates a bit and the lamps flicker when the dishwasher, stove or washing machine is running. But one gets along with it quite well.
The nearest village is 3 minutes away by car and offers 1-2 small supermarkets, a super butcher, a specialty shop for sausage, cheese and wine and a good trattoria. To the nearest beach it is 40min by car, which is perfectly okay. Otherwise, there are of course countless wineries and medieval towns / villages to visit.
We can definitely recommend this accommodation!

A spacious house for a family of four. The kitchen could be better equipped in terms of knives plates etc. The surroundings and views are beautiful. The close access to the village was a advantage. Don't miss the excellent pizzas and beautiful alleys in the neighbouring village.

Schöner kann man in der Toskana wohl kaum wohnen! Wir fühlten uns unglaublich wohl in dem tollen Haus, das vor Sauberkeit glänzte. Volle Punktzahl für die Ausstattung, den Pool, die Lage usw. Verbrachten als Familie eine tolle Urlaubswoche dort! Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!!!
