About this house rental
The Bastide. This beautiful property, with no immediate neighbors, is ideally located in Alhaurin el Grande, 20 minutes from Malaga airport. You will find shops and restaurants within a 10 minute drive; as for the beaches, allow 20 minutes to reach them. Golfers with the 3 courses within a 20-minute radius (including one within 5 minutes) can alternate their pleasure during their stay. It is a perfect villa for a great vacation with family or friends.
The house has 280 m2 of living space, numerous shaded terraces and a sleeping capacity of 10 people. It consists of 2 levels. On the ground floor, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room with open fire, 1 bedroom (180cm x 200cm bed), 1 bedroom (2 90cm x 200cm beds) and 2 shower rooms, 2 sinks and 2 WC. Upstairs, there is the master suite with a bed (180cm by 200 cm), followed by a jetted tub, 1 shower, 1 sink and 1 WC with access to a private terrace; 1 bedroom (1 140cm x 200cm bed + 1 90cm x 200cm bed) and 1 bedroom (2 90cm x 200cm beds) + 1 shower room, 1 washbasin and 1 WC.
The villa has an electric gate and is surrounded by a garden of 72 ares fully fenced with breathtaking and unobstructed views of the Guadalhorce valley and the surrounding countryside.
Depending on the season, you will find in the garden: orange, lemon, mango, almond, ...
It benefits from an 8 x 4 m swimming pool (the swimming pool can be heated during the months of October, November and April), a spa (off-season or on request), a pétanque court compliant, table tennis, table football and an orchard. There are also plenty of loungers, a gas barbecue, a shelter for the equivalent of 2 cars, and an outdoor laundry room with a washing machine.
The house is equipped with air conditioning, heating and mosquito nets on the windows. You will also find two hairdryers, an electric oven, a microwave, gas hobs, a dishwasher, 2 American fridges, kettle, percolator, nespresso coffee machine, juice press, mixer, mixer and sways in the kitchen. On the living room side, you have 2 televisions with French satellite and Spanish channel, a DVD player, an enclosure for Mp3 and Ipod, numerous books, DVDs and board games in our library, Wiffi.
Household linen (sheets and towels) is provided. On site, a gardener maintains the exteriors.
Finally the house has an alarm system.

What a villa, the pictures do not do this property its true justice. Stunning!
Well equipped with everything listed +much more, absolutely a home away from home.
The town is a short drive away, again well equipped with the usual shops/bars & restaurants.
Surrounding area is well within driving distance too..
Words cannot describe how great this place is, we look forward to returning.

La Bastide has to be one of the best Villas we have ever hired! Beautiful setting, the views are amazing, the pool and outdoor areas are superb, lots of shade cover for those who want it. The kitchen is extremely well equipped which was great because none of us wanted to eat out in the evenings, best place to be was La Bastide !

The villa is great. It is very secluded, but that is exactly what we were looking for. Both the inside and outside space is excellent and it is very well equipped. The villa manager, Margarita, lives close by and was lovely and easy to deal with.
There was a minor issue on our first day, where there were no duvets or blankets put out for the beds. No problem in July or August, but needed in late October. This was rectified on our second day, so all was then well.
The major problem was the pool heating. We discussed this with the villa owner when booking, because this was our number one priority when looking for a villa for late October, as we have a disabled son who needs warmer water. We agreed the heating cost and the owner confirmed that the pool would be heated prior to our arrival. He said as long as we kept the cover on at night, it should maintain heat for our stay. When we arrived the pool was cool and there was no cover on it. I had to go and find the cover, which was being stored in the parking area, pull it around to the pool, clean it (as it was covered in mud) and then put it over the pool, to try and get the pool temperature up. When I went to check the temperature the next day, I found that the electrics had tripped and it was not being heated, nor filtered. I reset the breaker, but this happened over and over again. After three days we gave up trying and accepted that we would not be able to use the pool. The pool man did attend on our 4th day, but didn't seem to be able to fix the problem, albeit it would have been too late to get the pool up to the desired temperature in time anyway.
We weren't charged for the pool heating in the end, but we paid a significant amount more for this villa than we would have done for something similar with an unheated pool, so it was very disappointing.
Hence the 3* rating. Had the pool heating worked, it would have been 5*.
