About this chalet rental
Chalet Sans Souci is a luxury chalet for 8 people, located in La Chapelle d'Abondance, Portes du Soleil, near the ski lift Panthiaz/ Braitaz (400m) which gives access to 650 km of ski slopes. Easily accessible by car and public transport
Description of property:
Ground floor: Large bedroom with two single beds (90x210),1 cot, 1 bunkbed, 2high chair for child. Bathroom with shower / wc, central heating. Space for washer / dryer, garage with walk-in door
1st floor: Entrance with separate toilet, large living room with wood burning stove and underfloor heating, 2xSat TV (French, German and Dutch channels), DVD, HIFI (radio, CD). Well equipped kitchen with 4 induction hobs, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, access to balcony around and spacious terrace with garden furniture.
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms with double bed and 2single mattress of size90x200cm, 2 rooms with access to the balcony.1 room without balcony. Bathroom with bath and shower. Separate WC, central heating
The chalet has WIFI internet
No pets allowed
Exterior: Parking for 3 cars and garden
The chalet lies in a quiet area with beautiful views of the mountains and valley.
Easily accessible by car:
20 min from the Swiss motorway,
30 min from Aigle train station (direct connection to Geneva Airport)
1:15 hour from Geneva Airport
The center of La Chapelle d'Abondance is within walking distance (tourist office, medical center, restaurants, bakery, etc.)
Winter:
Within walking distance to the ski lift Pantiaz/Braitaz, which gives access to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area and this is also the starting point for cross-country trails.
The free ski bus stops at the stop Fruitière (600m) and transports you to the ski lifts ofPanthiaz/ Braitaz and Cret Beni in La Chapelle and to the transition to the free ski buses Chatel Linga direction, Pre la Joux and the center of Chatel.
The ski resort of Cret Beni is very suitable for families with children and beginners.
The lessons are provided by ESF in La Chapelle d’Abondance and in Chatel.
The Portes du Soleil ski area offers guaranteed snow from December / April.
The area lies between 1100m and 2500m and offers all possibilities for beginners to advanced skiers.
Other possibilities are: cross country skiing, snow hiking with snowshoes, sleigh rides with huskies, or by horse
Summer holidays:
Hiking: You will find 120 km of marked hiking trails for all ages from very easy to very difficult, with or without the use of the chairlifts.
mountain biking: In this area you can find many biking trails from easy to hard. 24 lifts are open and there are 20 permanent downhill runs.Mountainbikes are plenty of rentals.
Further possibilities are: Climbing, horse riding, paragliding, rafting, fishing, tennis, golf at Evian and Villars, swimming, wellness centers in Chatel and Val d'Iliez
Excursions to Lake Geneva with the towns Evian Thonon, Yvoire, Montreux, Lausanne (which have lots of water sports possibilities)

This chalet was perfect for us, we were 4 children and 4 adults. The property was really well equipped, the kitchen had everything you could need.
The owner is so helpful, she helped with our ski hire, gave recommendations of where to ski, ski schools and general information on the area.
The resort was perfect for children learning to ski, the ski instructors (ESF) were great. It’s a lovely little resort. There wasn’t masses of snow whilst we were there, perfect for the lessons but we headed to Châtel (5mins away) for the afternoons and the skiing was great there.

We stayed here as a group of friends for our New Years get together and had a great time.
Location is great for skiing. Possible to walk to nearby ski areas depending on snow level and Chatel is only a short drive away and seemingly good in all conditions. The town of La Chapelle d’Abondance is only a 5 minute walk down the hill and the nearby restaurant of Fer Rouge perfect for evening drinks and snacks, with the restaurant brilliant for a lavish evening meal. The dog sledding nearby was greatly enjoyed as a unique experience and being able to see them along the valley from the chalet balcony was a lovely morning sight.
Most days we ate in the chalet, the kitchen was well equipped, easy to use, and large enough to prepare meals for 7 comfortably. The whole chalet was well equipped with plenty of seating and space for our group. The fridge / freezer is quite small, so if you plan to bring more than a few days worth of supplies it’s best to keep that in mind.
Those who arrived first had no complaints about the check-in procedure. I arrived quite late, and would have struggled to find the chalet in the dark if it weren’t for my friends having already arrived coming out to show us where to go. The only negative point for the whole experience would be the difficulty of finding it in the dark.
Communication with the property manager was perfect, quick responses, proactively checked everything was correct on arrival, and even left a little welcome gift.

We had an absolutely delightful 2 weeks during August in this lovely chalet. It felt like a home rather than 'just another rental property'. Well-furnished and obviously loved by the owners with all the day-to-day appliances and utensils you might need. All the bedrooms were a decent size with two having wonderful south-facing balcony views across the valley and to the mountains in the east. The sitting/dining/kitchen space was great with plenty of seating space for everyone around both the dining table and TV/Fireplace and with great access to the south-facing balcony and patio with 2 outdoor seating/dining spaces, one in the shade (west) and another in the sun (east).
A supermarket is just a short drive away and there are plenty of places to eat out just a short walk down the hill. There is no shortage of wonderful walks/hikes for all abilities directly from the chalet or within a half-hour drive.
We loved the chalet and Irene (the owner) was easy to contact, attentive, and lovely to deal with. Thanks Irene, we had a great summer holiday, wish we could have stayed longer.

Great property, just as advertised. Excellent lounge, dining kitchen area - enough for double our family size. Bedrooms all of a good size, we only used 2 out of the 4, so plenty of room for a large family.
Chalet was very clean and had everything we needed for weeks holiday.
Great location close to ski here , good restaurants and great views over the valley.
Easy access (by car) to local slopes but we drove to main Chatel car park to access Chatel / Avoriaz slopes.
Owner Irene - great at communication, provided everything / all information required. Was available on Whatsapp, answered immediately, very friendly / helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything was ok - no problems at all.
Highly recommend ! - i rarely write a review but wanted to share.
