About this villa rental
Villa Daphne is a stone built house that combines traditional Cretan design with modern facilities. With lots of space but still cozy, it's perfect for families or big groups of travellers that want to be close to everything but still have their privacy. It comes fully equipped, with complete office facilities for professionals, so you can still get some work done while on vacation. Hersonissos with its cosmopolitan beaches is only 15 minutes away. We are more than happy to accommodate you!
The space
Villa Daphne consists of a large central living area, 5 bedrooms with beds than can accommodate 12 people, including a crib for infants, 2 fully equipped bathrooms, and a WC. It also comes with covered parking space for 2 cars and lots of storage room. Three large verandas with BBQ offer amazing views to the nearby Lasithi mountains, the Aposelemis dam, and the submerged village of Sfendili. The land plot on which the villa stands is huge and offers very interesting hiking opportunities among the amazing flora and fauna of the area.
The central living area of the villa includes a fully equipped kitchen, complete with wood burning oven, a dining area with 4 big tables that can accommodate parties of over 20 people, and a living room with two couches and a flat screen TV. Just bove the living area is a fully equipped work space, complete with a conference table and workstation. All the bedrooms are bright and come equipped with high quality beds and mattresses that ensure a good night's sleep.
Guest access
Entire Villa with all its facilities and equipment. You will be able to enjoy the traditional wood burning oven of the house and be a part of the agricultural life style of the area.
The Villa offers covered parking space for two cars.

Other things to note
You definitely need a car and perhaps a satnav (GPS) system. Supermarkets can be found at "Potamies" village (4,4 km) and several good restaurants can be found in nearby villages, Avdou and Gonies (2-3 km). The property stands right opposite the Aposelemis' dam, and offers excellent views to it. Crete's only golf club is located just 7km away, while a beautiful water park can be found only 6,4km from the Villa. For adrenaline addicts, a famous paragliding point (parapente) is located 1,6 km away.
The view of the dam from the villa's veranda is breathtaking! The wild beauty of the Cretan Mountains is revealed as the villa is bathed by the light of the sun that emerges from the East. Listening to the sounds of nature awakens the visitor and invites him to discover the pathways surrounding the area. The villa is located in one of the greenest parts of the island of Crete, with amazing flora and fauna (including eagles and vultures) that await you to discover them.

Simply an amazing deal, location and experience. We are a group of 4 families, 8 adults and 3 children and the house accommodated us easily. Personally, I'm from Greece (my mother is from Chania, dad from Aigio), but our group had Americans, French and Indians and we all agree that this place was great and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Here are some reasons why.
Our flight was scheduled to land at midnight. When the owner, Mr Manolis, and Jason offered to pick us up from the airport to show us the way I was a bit surprised, but we quickly accepted. Unfortunately we made them wait an extra hour because our rental car wasn't ready. And yet, at 1am, Mr Manolis and Jason were waiting for us with big smiles and truly excited to meet us. We get to the villa, we open the door and we see a table full of food and drinks … and the fridge was full of fresh fruit. I don't know what else we could have asked for, it was a great welcome.
Mr Manolis was kind enough to share his local, homemade olive oil with us. If you are lucky enough to try it, you will know why I'm making a big deal about this. He was also kind enough to let us pick the trees, which meant we had fresh figs and oranges straight from the garden. I can't describe to you how amazing the freshly squeezed orange juice was every morning. Mr Manolis also kept restocking our fridge with other fresh fruit that he would bring from the market and the day before we left he came over and cooked a meal for us. Mr Manolis wanted us to have a great experience and he made sure we did, we are truly thankful.
Make sure you go to Portego in the village Mochos for dinner (they have Cretan night every Wednesday night). Tell them that Jason sent you, the owner Konstantinos will appreciate it. If you a looking for an awesome, quiet, sandy beach try Sarantari beach. Don't miss out going to St Nicholas, the drive up the mountain to Zeus' birthplace cave is just awesome and if you want to do some fun watersports there are a couple of places really close by (e.g. Malia beach).
Don't think twice about it, this place is an amazing deal at a great location and you will have a great experience. Thank you again Mr. Manolis and Jason!
