About this farm stay rental
After a short time away we are reopening our doors to those looking for the perfect all year round Tuscan holiday rental.
Immerse yourself in the heart of Tuscany. with easy access to visit Florence, Pisa, Lucca and the sandy beaches of the Versilian coast. The farmhouse sits on the edge of the quaint medieval village of Guzzano, in the historic spa town of Bagni Di Lucca in Lucca.
Filled with Tuscan charm and traditional features, this independent annex sits within a 17th century Tuscan farmhouse. the farm has only 1 rental, which is set on 1 level and surrounded by olive groves, and stunning Tuscan views. The new private pool area has loungers and shady areas for you to enjoy. The 9m x 5m pool has a shower and seating within it where you can relax under the Tuscan sun.
As you meet the rental you will have your own parking space right outside the property. The traditional Tuscan stable door leads you into the open plan living, dining kitchen with its chestnut windows and original features. The fully tiled bathroom has a bath and overhead shower. Its large double bedroom has far reaching views, its twin room has a Juliet balcony overlooking the private patio area. Outside a shady covered gazebo with table, chairs and BBQ makes it ideal for alfresco dining. The property also has an additional private patio area with hammock, sun loungers and outside seating, ideal for chilling with a book in hand and glass of wine. You can also try the stone pizza oven for a perfect pizza night under the stars.
With a home from home feel, complete with log burner, library of books, smart TV and games. All bed linens, towels are provided as well as laundry facilities on request.

We spent two weeks in this villa, and couldn't have asked for anything more from Joanna and Antonia who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Location-wise this was just stunning - tucked away in the hills, a really quiet and remote feeling place (just what we were looking for!) but with Bagni Di Lucca and its lovely restaurants just 10 mins drive away. The villa itself was lovely - our favourite thing to do all holiday was to enjoy breakfast as a family on the patio with that amazing view! Really recommend, would visit again!

Bagni di Lucca and the entire region of Garfagnana is beautiful. We drove up to the mountains, experiencing some spectacular views, passing through some lovely villages. In Bagni di Lucca, there are some nice bars and restaurants, for those without a car, the train station is in Fornoli, a good 3km from Bagni di Lucca, the trains enable you go North, or to Lucca.
Regarding our property, we had two issues, firstly in the 30 degree+ heat, we were only alerted to the fact that there were fans for us to use after texting the owner, as to where the washing machine was. It was in the cellar, which we had no access to, until I contacted the owner who obliged by providing us with a key to the cellar. It was in here where I came across the fans. My 9 year old son struggled to sleep on the first 2 nights before the fans became available.
The only other grouse, or rather disappointment, was the size of the swimming pool. As I have a 13 year old and a 9 year old, all of us are keen swimmers, the pool is an important part of our holiday. There is no indication as to the size of the pool on the website, and it is unclear on the photograph. The pool is tiny and inadequate other than for a short cool down at the end of a hot day. Fortunately Bagni di Lucca has a fantastic outdoor pool facility in the centre of town, and for 20 euros a day, the 3 of us could spend 5-6 hours each day in a large pool, diving area, decent cafe, sunbeds etc.
The sunloungers by the farmhouse pool are not in sight of the actual pool, which for those with very young children would be a concern.
Take the pool away though, and for occasional swimmers this is a beautiful property which the owners have obviously put a lot of work into over the years, the windy road up from town is a challenge but takes only 7 minutes and the BBQ area and patio are perfect for families, and the views are breathtaking.

We spent 6 days at this property, it is lovely. The views were amazing, the property is well maintained, although certain things - front door opening, wasps around swimming pool were annoying. The swimming pool is basic, as the owners were not there the pizza oven wasn't offered.
The nearest supermarket is back down the mountain (10/15 mins drive) to Bagni Di Lucca, which wasn't a problem.
Two local restaurants that were recommended were both excellent.
If you want to a peaceful holiday out of the way this place is brilliant.

We had a beautiful holiday in the Villa and were lucky enough to have the use of the owners terrace which was a delight, the butterfly'd and bee's on the Lavender were fantastic to watch as were the Firefly's at night. the Villa has Sun from early morning to late at night and the views were great as well, very quiet area and the Village had everything that you could need.
Only thing that we would say is the Villa at night is quite hot and a fan or two would have been great in the bedrooms at nigh time. But we would definitely stay here again.
