Location is good overlooking over lake through room window.... its on beautiful walking street along lake. room was small. view is good from room window. it seems a heritage property. breakfast was good, too.

our bad luck was - otis lift was not able to serve our floor- 2nd floor ! otherwise all ok. it has to be a temporary issue though. not much to frown though. staircase is winding up/dn so chugging heavy laggauge may be issue, if lift is not working.

Overall this is a great place to stay in the middle of Hallstatt. Our room was on the 4th floor, but there is an elevator, and the balcony had fantastic views of the lake and the mountains. The room was fine but there were a few niggles which I will get into. The staff were absolutely lovely, food in the restauarant was great and the place had a wonderful old world charm about it that made you feel comfortable. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great, and if you asked me where I would stay I would recommend it even though me and the sensor lights did not get along.

They will tell you to park in P1, dont. P2 parking appears fine and just a short walk of 10 minutes and you are at the hotel. The shuttle from P1 was quite hit and miss and seemed to be run on a feel like it basis, and we ended up walking anyway. The bathroom and entry area have sensor lights. The bathroom does not stay on very long, so for a number 1 you have to leave the door open or you are in the dark, same for showering or brushing you teeth. Howerver if you get up in the wee small hours for a quick trip to the loo the entry lights will stay on well after you are back in bed

The coffee at breakfast was not very warm otherwise everything was perfect
