It's a very lovely apartment with lively and coloured rooms, perfect for couples, families and small group of friends.
A multi-ethnic neighborhood surrounding the historic building where you will stay, a few steps away you will find the subway, city and extra-urban buses, Circumvesuviana station and the train station with which you can visit Pompei, Sorrento and Vesuvian towns.
The port is about 20 minutes walk away and from there you can visit Ischia, Capri, Procida and Positano.
Several of the oldest neapolitan restaurants and pizzerias are in walking distance.
Easily reached by public and private transport, It is a good starting point for visiting Naples and its surroundings.

This place is located right on top of Piazza Garabaldi, traffic noise, horns, hawkers etc, but with the double glazing the inside is nearly silent so you can watch the world go by but not have it interfere with you. The apartment itself is large and well appointed. If you are driving try to avoid parking Garabaldi - very expensive

Apartment was roomy, nicely decorated and comfortable in every way. Its proximity to the train station is definitely a must. We were there during the national futball playoffs which Naples won. Needless to say, the whole city was noisy.

Very well located accommodation, with good facilities that leaves nothing to be desired. Very friendly landlady, who is easy to reach and always answers e-mails immediately. Outstanding service. We were warmly welcomed and felt really comfortable during our two-week stay. Next time we visit Naples, this apartment will be our first choice. The appartement is great for exploring the city. Pompeii, Herculaneum and Stabiae are easily reachable via Porta Nolana; Caserta, Salerno or Paestum can be easily reached via the main train station. Both train stations within short walking distance. Grocers around the corner, and as well a good bakery, too.

It was our own fault for not doing our research properly, but as with many areas which have a major rail terminus nearby, at nightime the environment changes.
First the good - the directions and communication from Manuela were excellent - we arrived very late (after midnight), and someone was there to meet us. We immediately felt at home in the apartment, and it is an excellent space when you have three boys (2 of them teenagers!). The welcome pack of food and coffee was amazing, and there was wine, beer, juice, milk too. We slept very well, as you can close the windows to the noise, and the air conditioning made it comfortable. The kids enjoyed watching the Netflix TV after days of walking! Location wise, it's very near the station, so getting around is easy. We felt very safe in the apartment, and there was generally someone on the gate downstairs keeping an eye on comings and goings.
The negative, which I hadn't really seen in the other reviews and I would like to have known (as I said, my fault for not researching) is as with all of these areas after dark the place feels a little different. There is certainly a 'red light' edge to the area, and I didn't like walking around with the kids after dark - so we got taxis, which worked out fine.
I don't want to sound negative, because the apartment is lovely and just what we were looking for. I'm just not sure I would have taken my children to such an area.
