About this villa rental

Villa Landi – Your Tuscan Escape in the Heart of San Cassiano

Nestled in the charming 12th-century village of San Cassiano, just outside the historic spa town of Bagni di Lucca, Villa Landi is the perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany.

This spacious villa offers comfortable accommodation with 4 double/twin bedrooms (including a cot and high chair for families with young children), 2 bathrooms, a cosy dining room, inviting lounge, fully equipped kitchen (with all modern appliances, including a dishwasher), and a convenient utility room (featuring an automatic washing machine).

Step outside into the south-facing walled garden, a tranquil oasis with vines, olive trees, and a refreshing swimming pool. The garden’s large paved area is ideal for sunbathing, while the shaded loggia, draped in vines, offers a perfect spot to relax and take in the stunning views of the Lima Valley.

Enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace or by the pool area, complete with a barbecue for outdoor meals. Inside, unwind with TV and a DVD player.

Conveniently, the village is within walking distance to a local shop, butcher, and restaurant/bar, so you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips.

The area remains beautifully unspoiled, with a selection of excellent local restaurants and the nearby renowned spa town of Bagni di Lucca. Bagni di Lucca is a tranquil Tuscan retreat where history, nature, and wellness blend into an unforgettable holiday experience. Nestled in the lush valley of the Lima River and framed by the Apennine hills, this charming spa town has been welcoming visitors for centuries—once a favoured escape for poets, aristocrats, and international travellers seeking serenity and healing.

The natural thermal springs, celebrated since Roman times, offer restorative spa treatments and warm pools perfect for unwinding. The town’s elegant villas, leafy promenades, and the historic Casinò di Bagni di Lucca add a touch of old-world romance.

Outdoor lovers can explore scenic hiking trails, picturesque hilltop villages, and hidden chapels scattered across the surrounding countryside. The nearby Lima River offers opportunities for rafting, canyoning, and leisurely riverside picnics. And when you’re ready for a change of pace, the art cities of Lucca, Pisa, and Florence are close enough for easy day trips.

Villa Landi is well-connected, with Pisa Airport just an hour away, and Genoa and Bologna around two hours by car.

Book your Tuscan getaway at Villa Landi – where history, nature, and comfort come together for an unforgettable stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Mike’s house. The space is fantastic, the garden is very spacious, and the pool is delightful. There is a beautiful view of the mountains, and it’s the perfect place to completely relax. I would recommend this house to anyone.

Villa Landi one of the most delightful Villas we have stayed in! Its traditional style and very clean and spacious living and bedroom areas make it perfect accommodation for five adult people. Built high up in the hills of San Cassiano, and a short distance from town of Bagni Di Lucca, we could not have wished for a more beautiful and tranquil holiday setting. In the mornings we awoke to the sound of goat bells ringing as the herd made its way up the mountainside. Then we would take breakfast on the fabulous veranda that traversed the length of the villa. As we ate we would watch the early morning display provided by the swifts and swallows as they danced and dived in a clear blue sky, and finally skimmed the surface of our private pool looking for their own breakfast! After a leisurely breakfast we would swim and relax in our large secluded and large private garden, or take a walk in the local area, taking in the daytime sights and sounds of San Cassiano became one of our favourite activities! Some days we took afternoon and evening trips to Pissa, or Lucca, and took in the atmosphere of the piazza whilst eating long lazy evening meals, and drinking copious amounts of beautiful Italian wine! On other trips we explored small villages high in the hills, were the buildings took on an almost cinematic and fairy tale quality On some evenings we would use the purpose built BBQ, and the garden, would take on yet another persona. We would catch the smell of wood smoke as it drifted lazily upward into the late evening sky, listen to the sound of children’s laugher, to families enjoying themselves, and watch the bats put on a late night acrobatic display. And through a combination of the ambient glow given off by both the under water lighting in the swimming pool, and the lights nestling in the cave shaped, and almost ‘cloister’ like outside eating areas, family meals were always joyous, and very atmospheric occasions! On other evenings after visiting the local ‘Penny Market fabulous, and very economical supermarket in Borgo a Mozzano) we would take it in turns to cook dinner in the beautiful kitchen, And whilst we cooked, with the large kitchen windows open, we could feel and smell the barmy summer night air, and as we sat down to eat I am sure we were wished Buon aappetito ‘! By an owl as it hooted on by outsideAnd as I watch the gray clouds forming outside, and feel the temperature start to fall as summer turns into autumn I wish we were were back there doin
