About this house rental
The house is a classic French farmhouse with a large wood-burning fireplace, tile and wood floors and exposed beams giving it a traditional and warm atmosphere. Upstairs on the top floor, the huge loft has been newly converted to the master bedroom with a wooden floor and beams and shuttered windows which open onto a panoramic view over the fields and agricultural land surrounding. The room is newly furniture with a new en-suite bathroom. There are 2 comfortable double bedrooms on the first floor, 1 of which is recently renovated. The house is centrally heated throughout with newly fitted windows, doors and shutters. We'll leave enough wood for the fireplace for the first night or 2 at the house and more logs can be purchased at the local supermarkets thereafter.
Le Hambout is in the small village of St Andre des Eaux 5 minutes from the town of Evran set on a river with a lock. There's a picturesque lake 5 minutes away which is perfect for a stroll. The area is peaceful and the property is set off of a grass track. Le Hambout is 10 minute drive from the historic walled city of Dinan with many restaurants, pavement cafes and a marina where you can enjoy a glass of wine while watching the boats.
Forty minutes from the property is the beautiful port town of St Malo with it's tremendous wartime history and scene of many prestigious sailboat races. Also the same distance away is the awesome Mont Saint Michel which everyone should visit in their lifetime.Between the 2 are a host of sandy beaches and seaside towns such as Cancale where you can spend a day walking in the harbour and enjoying fresh seafood in the many seafront diners.

Ik wil het liefst een negatieve recentie schrijven zodat niemand hier naar toe gaat en wij het voor onszelf kunnen houden..... Want het is een heerlijk huis, heerlijke omgeving als je van rust houdt maar toch dicht bij leuke steden en dorpen wil zitten. Huis is wel gehorig en de WiFi is niet heel sterk als je er met meer tegelijk op zit. Voor ons was dat allemaal geen probleem. Fijne communicatie met Paul en Tanya. Wij gaan zodra de mogelijkheid zich voor doet absoluut weer terug.

C'est une maison agréable, spacieuse et assez bien équipée.
La douche tout en haut, attenante à la chambre principale, est vraiment chouette. La literie est dans l'ensemble très correcte.
Les propriétaires (par mail et téléphone) sont sympathiques et disponibles.
Deux bémols cependant :
-La propreté serait à améliorer.
-Et surtout : il y a 5 coqs dans la maison mitoyenne ! Autant dire qu'entre 5H et 7H du matin, il est très difficile de dormir car ils "chantent" sans cesse...

The farmhouse is just as you would hope for a country property. It is well stocked and comfortably furnished. The location is perfect for exploring the sights of Bretagne - Dinan, which should not be missed, Dinard, St Malo and Mont St Michael are all within an easy drive.
The owners are very communicative, the directions perfect and the keys were easy to find on arrival. There are clear instructions for the use of all the appliances.
We all truly enjoyed our house in the country and would highly recommend it.

Schön und großes Haus.
Aber viel zu hellhörig. Wenn in der 2.ten Etage normal gesprochen wird , ist es kein Problem unten jedes Wort zu verstehen und umgekehrt.
