We selected this home in order to explore many different areas in the Garfagnana and it was the perfect jumping off point to do so! Our hosts were lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend and hope to return in the near future for longer excursions.

Paolo’s property was perfect for me and my family. It is clean, spacious and very well presented. It is a perfect location for exploring the Garfagnana region and close to plenty of local amenities. The swimming pool is beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We hope to return next summer. Grazie mille, Paolo!

The set up of this property is first class for two adults, although there are additional bunk beds for children. It is difficult to find at first but you need to focus on the village of Ghivizzano. Having said that there is private access to the property and good parking. The pool is a very usable for a decent swim and good sun beds for your use. Highly recommended.

Once you find it ( use google earth and sat nav and ring when close!) you enter the gates into a haven of peace with the owners house, a beautiful pool with ample loungers and shade, lovely views and a very warm and friendly welcome. The chalet is detached, large, beautifully restored, very comfortable and well equipped ( bring your own travel kettle and tea/coffee ).The village has a few small shops with supermarkets a short drive away as are several excellent restaurants. Lucca is a 30 minute drive and was quiet in June with ample parking; we used the train from there to reach Florence, lovely but very crowded. The surrounding countryside is great for exploring and the pool area truly lovely for relaxing.Paolo and Fosca and their family could not have done more for us and their wonderful welcome, daily gifts and chats in Italian/English played a large part in making our stay such a lovely experience. Wewould go back tomorrow!
