About this apartment rental
Located on the beautiful island of Palmaria, right in front of Porto Venere in a quiet and unique place with stunning sea view. Taxi boats run throughout the day from Porto Venere to the island (10min.). It couldn't be more easy and comfortable: just in front of the house you can enjoy a bath in cristal clear water. A short walk takes you to another beach with bar and restaurant. You'll love our outdoor kitchen on the veranda - simply amazing to dine under the starry sky, listening to the silence and the sound of the sea. Green garden area for sunbathing with loungers and outdoor shower - also with hot water. Go for a hike and explore the island and it's amazing vegetation and panoramic views over the sea. Wow. What a place. This family of 4 had a truly wonderful week at Villa Olivio, and can only recommend you to spend your vacation here.
Portovenere - with its liveliness, restaurants, and a small but well-stocked grocery store - is only 5 minutes away by boat (easy to reach with a boat, departs every 30 minutes or so). Still, you have that island feel on Palmeria. The pace is low, the crowds are almost non-existing and you can take a dip in the water wherever you please.
But the most important bit is this: Villa Olivio is a true gem. Located in an old house with a couple of other apartments, this one stands out. The apartment feels completely secluded, the gate from the property opens directly to a small beach, and you have access to a private garden, an outdoor shower, and an amazing terrace. In fact, the shadowy terrace with its outdoor kitchen proved to be such a wonderful place to be (and to cook & enjoy meals!) that we ended up spending every evening here.
The indoor facilities were just as expected (or better) - a cosy "summer cabin-ish" feel, with all the amenities you need. The A/C in the living room is capable of cooling down both the bedrooms too. You have a dishwasher, washing machine, and two fridges (one of them at the terrace).
Ombretta is a kind & loving hostess, backed up by Alberto (the charming and lively "fixer" who can & will get you to Portovenere - or anywhere else - by his boat).
Highly recommended - we hope to come back!

Was für ein wunderbarer Ort?! Wir waren fünf Tage Ende Mai dort. Unser Hund hatte genauso viel Freude wie wir. Leben draussen, direkt am Meer - Herrlich!

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche mit unseren drei jugendlichen Kindern. Die Wohnung mit Blick auf die Bucht, authentischer Einrichtung und schönen Aussenräumen befindet sich im 1. Stock und besitzt zwei Schlafzimmer und ein Wohnzimmer mit Sofabett und offener Küche. Die Lage auf der Insel Palmaria direkt am Wasser ist einmalig - und die Umgebung traumhaft. Der Wanderweg rund um die Insel ist sehr empfehlenswert! Alles hat wunderbar geklappt. Wir wurden von Riccardo mit dem Boot abgeholt und fühlten uns von ihm super betreut. Tipp: Im Supermercato in Portovenere vor der ersten Überfahrt auf die Insel einkaufen.
