This historic farmhouse, lovingly crafted between the 17th and 18th centuries, has been restored with passion and devotion. Divided into six spacious apartments, the largest in the region, ranging from 60 to 95 square meters each, Montegonfoli invites you to experience timeless comfort in a setting steeped in tradition.
Spread across 23 hectares, the estate unfolds like a Tuscan poem, you will find here vineyards yielding Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, wines as legendary as the land itself, about 1000 olive trees, guardians of centuries-old traditions, producing golden olive oil, fields of gold, where wheat, sunflowers, and rapeseed sway with the seasons, and a a serene forest, cradling a murmuring brook, a sanctuary for quiet walks, light treks, and moments of wonder for young and old alike.
Montegonfoli SIX, on the first floor, is your private retreat. Step directly into the shared garden or relax in your secluded outdoor space, complete with a dining table, chairs, and shade, a perfect setting for al fresco meals under the Tuscan sun. Inside, the apartment welcomes up to four guests (and two babies under 3yo), offering two charming bedrooms, gazing over the peaceful courtyard, a large living room with a four fires, two armchairs, a 32" LCD TV and a huge fireplace, where our ancient farmer used to sleep over a Fiat 500 seat. For maximum privacy, each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom, both ones with shower and bidet.
Montegonfoli combines the tranquility of the countryside with the convenience of proximity. San Gimignano’s historic center lies just one mile away as the crow flies, or 2 miles by road. For those who love walking, a scenic excursion to San Gimignano is possible on foot, ascending its hill in about 45 minutes. Nearby, you’ll find two restaurants in walking distance (though the closest one, only 50 meters away, is not currently open for dinner) and a riding school, a walk of 30 seconds, offering enchanting horseback excursions.
