About this house rental
Casa Artuico is an independent holiday home for up to 4 guests, with a private, fully fenced garden, located within a historic castle, in the heart of one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages.
This charming 75 m² stone house was once the residence of medieval guards and has since been transformed into a quiet and comfortable retreat.
Carefully restored in 2012 with great respect for the original materials and proportions, the house features terracotta floors, exposed wooden beams, and a warm, authentic atmosphere - ideal for guests who appreciate genuine historic places and tranquility.
Layout of the house
Ground floor:
Double bedroom with direct access to the private garden, furnished with a comfortable double bed and antique furniture
Bathroom with a spacious shower finished in green-blue mosaic tiles
Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a marble dining table Cosy living area with sofa and satellite TV
Outdoor spaces:
The house has a private, fully fenced garden for exclusive use, perfect for relaxing and dining outdoors.
The garden is equipped with wooden table and chairs, deckchairs, sun loungers, and a barbecue.
Guests also enjoy exclusive access to the castle’s historic gardens, a rare privilege immersed in peace and nature.
Setting and location:
Casa Artuico is located in the historic centre of Strassoldo, one of I Borghi più belli d’Italia (Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages), a small, authentic village that is still very much lived in.
The historic centre consists of two contemporaneous fortified complexes: the Castello di Strassoldo di Sopra, owned by our family for over one thousand years, and the Castello di Strassoldo di Sotto, belonging to our relatives.
Although small, the village offers essential services:
a grocery shop
post office
hairdresser
café
4 restaurants, 2 of which are within walking distance
Connections:
Beaches of Grado: 20 minutes by car
Venice: 1 hour
Trieste: 35 minutes
Udine: 20 minutes
Slovenia: 30 minutes
Austria: 1 hour

What you will love about the area:
Strassoldo is a compact and authentic village, perfect for evening walks among historic walls and waterways, far from traffic and mass tourism.
Guests particularly enjoy spending the day at the seaside or visiting one of the many local attractions and returning to Strassoldo in the evening to enjoy the cool air and tranquility. Dining by candlelight in the garden is a special pleasure, as is walking or driving a short distance to one of the excellent local restaurants, before returning to a quiet and sheltered place. In the evening, the village becomes especially atmospheric, with soft lighting, silence and a clear night sky, ideal for those seeking relaxation and rare, unspoilt surroundings.

We really enjoyed our time in Strassoldo. It was a great location for day trips to the beach and Venice. The accomodations were clean and beautiful and the gardens were great. We'd certainly recommend it to others.

Wir waren in Casa Artuico zu viert (meine 17jährige Tochter, ihre gleichaltrige Freundin, unserer großer Hund und ich). Wir waren uns alle einig: an einem so schönen Ort waren wir noch selten in unserem Leben, die Wohnung hatte alles, was das Herz begehrt, um sich dort wohlzufühlen, auch einmal etwas zu kochen (bis hin zum Grill im Garten!), und ist wunderschön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Und der Garten ist ein Traum, wie auch die ganze Schlossanlage. Wir wären sehr gern länger geblieben und kommen bestimmt wieder. Die gesamte Umgebung bietet so viel an Kultur, Natur, Landschaft und Meer, dass man ganz viele Ausflüge machen kann, ohne sich zu langweilen. Aber das war eigentlich nicht die Hauptsache - in Strassoldo selbst war es einfach wunderschön und erholsam - auch mit der sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Betreuung und Unterstützung von Frau Williams di Strassoldo und ihren Mitarbeitern.Wir haben hier schon allen Freunden und Bekannten davon vorgeschwärmt - hoffentlich nicht zu viel, damit für uns nächstes Jahr auch noch ein Termin frei bleibt.
