Sound of The Sea Villa

we loved everything about this place. the staff were excellent and went above and beyond.

beach front and spacious. the staff want to help and are eager to assist. quality of food was fantastic.

advertised gym which was not operational. walk along beach to Canggu tide dependent. at times staff tend to be a little intrusive but that is not their fault. if rainy weather limited ammenities- tv etc. some facilities are a little tired and in need of attention.

The location was amazing, right on the beach and the grounds look superb. Marka, Dodi, Dewa and the crew were very friendly and responded happily and eagerly to any of our requests. The birthday dinner organised on the property was beautifully set up and the food was excellent. The staff did a fabulous job that night and should be commended for it.

Unlike any other villa we have stayed at, there was a requirement to provide money in advance to cover groceries and so I was having regular discussions on my holiday about money, and what we required and how much it would cost, and then I needed to direct transfer the amounts and show proof before food could be purchased. This is not relaxing although I accept that some guests might like this level of control over the finances. My experience of other villas was that I was provided with an invoice on the final day for payment. This is not the fault of the staff. Poor Marka was covering the grocery cost once he saw proof of my transfer. It is an issue with the management of the villa by the owner in my view, who clearly does not allow a kitty to cover standard groceries such as for breakfasts and snacks. Not even espresso coffee was included. My message setting out what items we would like on arrival for snacks and breakfasts was also not communicated to the staff and so none of those items had already been purchased. The staff were lovely and helpful, but reactive, not proactive. For example, we were regularly asking for pool towels to be put out around the pool - there were never 12 towels set out, despite there being 12 guests and the towels ran out one day which suggests that the owner needs to invest in a greater supply of additional towels so that a delay at the laundry does not impact the supply of towels to guests.

The property in itself is a bit older but properly maintained and kept. Super clean and spacious, great for groups of friends / families. It’s overlooking right to the ocean, so it indeed the “sound of the sea” :) but what really impressed me is the excellent service of the staff, Pak Marka and the team really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are super attentive, highly proactive, respectful and also can give great suggestions. I would HIGHLY recommend the villa not only for its superb facilities, locations and values, but also because of the quality of the service that you wouldn’t probably get anywhere else. Excellent.

The beach is a somewhat public beach, so you probably can see some people walking around. But the security and the gate is completely safe and there’s always somebody who’s guarding. :)
