Outlook to the rice fields, villages and the surrounding countryside with the main feature being Mt Agung.
The restaurant served delicious meals and all the staff offered exceptional service.
We appreciated being taken and escorted to the Ogoh-Ogoh performances in Sidemen. A fabulous experience.
Also appreciated the staff who stayed at the hotel away from their families to provide us with meals and service our room on the day of Nyepi.
The spa service was excellent- one of the best Balinese massages I have experienced.
Some stairs were a challenge, however, there were railings to assist with navigating them.
Ceiling fans could assist with air movement in the room rather than relying upon the small A/C unit.

We are delighted with our stay at this hotel. The staff are extremely kind and attentive. The hotel is beautiful and impeccably maintained. The restaurant is excellent. The view of Mount Agung is incredible—the most beautiful view of our vacation. We were upgraded to a villa with a private pool, which is truly sumptuous. Thank you to the entire team.

We stayed in the same room Mick Jagger stayed in when he visited in 1990.
Breakfast was really good and the infinity pool was very inviting.
We had the free massage one day and paid for a Balinese massage the next day. We also took a cooking class.
Just a caution: there are a lot of stairs

The hotel view is nice, and the staff are cooperative and helpful.
The location is far from the town and there is nothing around to visit. We felt like we were in quarantine inside the hotel with no facilities available. The menu had no good options , we checked it and were very disappointed.
We had to take a local cab and spend a lot of money just to go outside to eat. We didn’t even see other guests having meals, maybe they also faced the same problem with the menu and the facilities. When we asked the staff, they said they are working on it and maybe the menu will be extended next year, which is not useful for us now.
The food taste was not good. Many times the order was replaced because it was served cold or not the same as what we asked for. It is very expensive and not worth staying here.
On our first day, the air conditioner was not working. We reported it and they sent an electrician, but he didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He kept playing with the remote control and somehow it got a little better, but not as expected.
Housekeeping sometimes forgot to replace the old towels. Overall, our experience was not good after paying so much money. We will surely not come back here and cannot recommend it.
We stayed in another villa during our Bali trip, and it was much better and less expensive. We recommend the senior management of Patal Kikian to please consider this as feedback to improve, so future guests can have a better experience.
