Mas au Cœur de La Provence & SPA

Una de nuestras mejores experiencias de siempre. El espacio es un paraiso de paz y tranquilidad, lleno de rutas para ir a correr o en bici, muy cerquita de Aix en Provence (menos de 15 minutos de coche), y sobre todo, una piscina descomunal, la ducha de otro nivel, mucho espacio en la habitación, terraza privada de ensueño, y el desayuno, de los mejores que nunca hemos tomado. Aurelie es el colmo de la amabilidad y de las ganas de hacerte sentir, directamente, mejor que en casa. Honestamente, contando las semanas para volver a visitar este maravilloso lugar!!!

Both of our hosts were quite friendly. We don’t speak French and our one host only spoke French - but we got by! The location was great - close to town, yet tucked away enough to feel like you were in the country. We were greeted with two glasses of rose and a light snack by the pool upon arrival which was an unexpected nice touch.

Misleading Photos and Disappointing Experience. We were drawn in by the beautiful photographs, but unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the presentation. Poor Maintenance & Lack of Care: The property was not well maintained. Decorative rock beds, the pool patio, and even the pool itself had natural debris scattered throughout. When we arrived, an old, crusty towel was draped over a pool chair - clearly left behind from a previous guest. We spoke with a summer staff member who told us things had been quiet and that he hadn’t had much to do yet - he was mostly “just chillin’.” That was surprising, considering the obvious lack of upkeep around the grounds. We found a broken pool skimmer net and ended up cleaning the pool ourselves on our second day - a minor win, but certainly not what we’d expected from a paying stay. Spa Facility: Not a Hammam If you’re hoping for a true hammam experience, temper your expectations. What’s advertised as a hammam is really just a basic steam sauna. There is also a wet sauna, but again, nothing close to the traditional hammam experience we were excited for. I expected black soap and exfoliating mitts to be available, as is standard in most hammams, but they weren’t - I had to specifically ask for black soap, and it was handed to us just before we entered. Inside the steam room, we quickly realized the setup was incomplete: there was no running water, no drain covers, and no exfoliating mitts - just basic face towels. After steaming and applying soap, we had to search for a bowl to rinse the steam room ourselves. The room felt unused for months - dust, bugs, cobwebs, and grime in every corner. It’s a shame, because the space itself has potential, but it’s clearly been neglected. Breakfast: Underwhelming Breakfast was not the “exceptional” experience we’d read about. One positive: it was served directly to our patio, which was a nice touch. The meal consisted of yogurt (which was fine), coffee, fruit, and eggs for my partner.
