Hôtel particulier "le clos de la croix"

Location was wonderful. Although it was just one block from the cathedral, 3 blocks from Place du Quebec, and two blocks from a great choice among many great restaurants, the Rue de Bouchers was quiet, and the lovely garden in the back of the property was the perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the property.

Nothing! Michael and Gilles were wonderful, attentive hosts. They even had a supply of chargers if guests needed more than they had. The hotel offered wonderful amenities.

We loved the Clos de la Croix. Michael and Gilles were extraordinary kind, carrying our luggage to our rooms, and making a dinner reservation for us. We didn't know any restaurants in Bayeux, so that thoughtful assistance was greatly appreciated. Without meaning to say much about our rooms, I have to say that we were overwhelmed by their gardens, which were absolutely magnificent. In our rooms, the beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and had all the amenities, which is saying quite a lot about a mansion built in 1744. Renovating the property to make it so comfortable for guests must have been very difficult. It was obviously a labor of love.

Nothing, really. The homemade breakfasts included croissants, prosciutto, cheeses, and homemade apple compote, made from apples in the garden. They even made me chocolat chaud, since I don't drink coffee!

Michael and Giles are very gracious hosts. The house is fascinating and comfortable.

They went above and beyond, offering fantastic recommendations for local restaurants, cafés, and must-see sights around the region. Each morning began with a breathtaking breakfast, served on a beautifully appointed table with fine china and crystal. Gilles treated us to his culinary talents with delectable French pastries, while Michael ensured our coffee cups were always full and every comfort was met. It was truly a five-star start to the day. Our room overlooked the serene garden—a view both stunning and romantic. The space was spacious, the bed luxuriously comfortable, and the en-suite bathroom accessible via a charming secret passage—just one of many enchanting details that made our stay so special. Without a doubt, our time at Hotel Particulier was the highlight of our Normandy trip. We wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary B&B to anyone visiting Bayeux.
