About this house rental
A grand Victorian Home, High View is set on the top of a hill overlooking south London and only a ten minute train journey to central London
With a large driveway with parking for four or five cars, the house also boasts an enormous lawned garden, large terrace with
dining and seating areas as well as an elegant balconied terrace.
The ground floor is accessed via large double doors to the hallway with a grand staircase. This floor is served by a Butler's Kitchen well-equipped for entertaining. The drawing room leads to the balconied terrace while the interlinked Salon and Dining Room has a large dining table and seats up to 16 comfortably.
On the lower ground floor you will find a large country style kitchen plus
secondary kitchen as well as an elegant breakfast room and media
room with mirrored bar. There is an additional shower room on this level
with double basins plus WC. The large kitchen leads to a terrace with tables and chairs.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms - the stunning pink and gold Versailles Room, white Moroccan-style bedroom and the
Master Bedroom which features a huge soaking tub and antique French basins. This floor is also served by a large shower room
and the Silver Bathroom with its marble and silver basins and large soaking tub.
The second floor has a further four bedrooms all of which are themed - from The Dormitory with its row of four single beds to
the Patchwork Room with double bed, The Ticking Bedroom with three single beds and elegant Grey Bedroom with antique double
carved bedstead. The Coral Bathroom features a traditional roll top bath and original fireplace while the adjacent bathroom features
a roll top bath and enormous walk in shower.

We had an amazing stay at this property. The owners were so helpful. They built a ramp for wheelchair access for my mother so she could join us for Christmas The house is beautiful and decorated so tastefully, every room had a story to tell . We had 7 Christmas trees in the house .

This house is beautiful and spacious. Plenty of rooms and comfortable beds. We had 17 people and there was one room we never had to use. As others have commented, it appears to be used for photo shoots in some capacity. That being said, there is A LOT of breakable decor. We were traveling with 9 pretty calm kids but I was still nervous the whole time that a wall of dishes would come crashing down. If we had younger, more rambunctious kids, it would have been incredibly stressful.
The listing mentions that London city center was a 10 minute train ride, but it definitely wasn’t that simple. We didn’t quite figure out the most efficient way to get there until the last day and we ended up having to Uber to the station. It would definitely be helpful for the property to have some information on transport and restaurants, Details on a few basics would have been extremely helpful.
The small town that was walking distance was fine, but didn’t feel like the kind of place you wanted to wander at night.
This property would be perfect for a large group of adults that wanted to be together away from life’s distractions, but if your plan is to use it as a home base for a London vacation, do thorough research first.
The beauty and comfort of the home gets 5 stars, the location and sporadic communication from the owner’s could have been

GORGEOUS! The house is immaculate. Perfect size for our larger group, which included 10 people between the ages of 16 and 75. Great location! Quiet neighborhood, close to 2 metro stops, grocery stores, and restaurants.
