Just a few minutes' walk away is the widest beach in Denmark, perfect for long walks, sandcastle building and swimming. Explore the island's diverse birdlife and, with a bit of luck, experience the impressive natural spectacle of the so-called Black Sun, when huge flocks of starlings darken the sky. A trip to Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark, is also worthwhile.
