Bring the kids and the family pet to this family-friendly ground-floor apartment in glorious North Devon. Close to one of the most well-known beaches in the UK, this holiday home is situated right in the heart of the village, with shops, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Enjoy glimpses of the sea from the living area or watch the world go by from the raised terrace at the front of the property.
As you climb the three steps up to the ground floor, you’ll see the spacious, contemporary living room with comfortable sofas which are perfect for sinking into as you turn on the Smart TV with Sky. Enjoy the views from the dual-aspect windows or head to the bright and modern kitchen/diner with its slate-effect flooring and cook up a memorable meal for the whole group. Through an inner hallway to the rear, you’ll find the attractive double bedroom which benefits from an en-suite bathroom and a Smart TV. The twin is served by a separate shower room. Relax on the small, raised terrace to the front or enjoy dining alfresco in the fully enclosed courtyard to the side. For surfers or cyclists, a secure storage room just off the courtyard is a real bonus.
With just a short stroll to the esplanade and 3 miles of glorious sandy beach (which incorporates Putsborough Beach too), this holiday cottage is a great choice for all age groups. You could stay here for a month and not run out of things to do, such is the excitement that surrounds this popular seaside resort. Why not start off with a beautiful coastal walk to Morte Point? This lovely section of the South West Coast Path might reward you with sightings of sea lions if you are lucky. Barricane Beach is at the north end of Woolacombe and there, a cafe serves delicious Sri Lankan curries on the beach that you can savour as the sun goes down. Get your surf on at either Woolacombe or Croyde; both beaches are part of the North Devon World Surfing Reserve and offer up some of the best waves in the UK. Long-established surf schools at both beaches can help those who are just starting out.
