About this house rental
This characteristic house with its own jetty is located directly on the open water. It belongs to the group 'Mushroom houses', a concept on the Kaag since 1938. The house has both a front and back garden and offers a lot of privacy. The house has recently been newly built while retaining its original character. Use has been made of natural materials and has an attractive and contemporary look and is fully equipped.
It has a bathroom with double shower, 2 toilets, central heating, fireplace, large flat screen TV, well-equipped kitchen, all around terraces and patio doors to the garden everywhere. In the evening you can enjoy the beautiful view by the outdoor stove. There are 3 bedrooms, all with double beds . The house has a very spacious living room around the fireplace with wooden floor and large sofa, both in the open kitchen and outside are large dining tables.
The Kaaghuis offers both possibilities when the weather is nice, to spend a pleasant holiday. Because the house is on an island, this gives a unique feeling of freedom and integration with nature. Getting up and taking a refreshing dip is a fantastic start to the day. Afterwards having breakfast on the jetty with all the boats passing by gives the feeling that time stands still for a moment and that there is peace in an overcrowded existence. At the same time, De Kaag is in the middle of the Randstad, with all its energy and activities. Both a boat and a car (no cars near the house!!) can reach everything a vacation needs. The water sports enthusiast can indulge themselves. The Kaagsocieteit is the bustling heart of the (recreational) sailor and the competitive sailor. The whole family can also go there for a nice drink with food, a 10-minute boat ride away.
In the summer months the cottage is accessible by boat, in the winter months you have to cover a distance of approximately 500 meters on foot from the parking lot on Nassaulaan, Kaageiland.
The location of the house makes it unsuitable for the disabled. It is 500 !!! meters walking over a path, through a meadow! So no rolling suitcases because it is a bumpy path!!!

We absolutely loved this lake house! I think it’s also the prettiest and most private part of Kaag but still easily walkable to the city and to the nearby restaurants.. Really beautiful and cozy design, from the furniture, decorations, the beautiful tableware.. Sitting on the terrace right at the lake felt fantastic and the sunsets were really magical, followed by great cozy evenings by the fireplace..:) You should just be prepared that Kaag itself is very small and there are no shops to buy food, so come prepared ;) But absolutely recommend to visit this beautiful and peaceful place! 10/10

It was special!!!!! Beautiful home. Beautiful. There is a 9 to 10 minute walk from where you park the car. Not ADA accessible but for those who are active and enjoy walking before they begin their sightseeing. It was perfect. Well stocked kitchen with spices and oils. All the pans, knives, cutting boards, plates and glasses you could need. Nice bed and bath linens. Definetly would stay there again.

Belle maison au bord de l'eau, très bien équipée, vaisselle importante et de qualité.
Malheureusement, en cette période de fin décembre, il fait souvent mauvais , la maison est située au bout, du bout, de l'île et la route s'arrête 300 mètres avant.
Il faut donc marcher constamment dans la terre et la boue pour faire les allers-retours à votre voiture (la voiture doit être laissée sur le parking à 300 m).
Nous n'avions pas été informés de cette situation, ni de l'équipement nécessaire (bottes).
Au bout de quelques jours, toujours sous le mauvais temps d'hiver, cela agace beaucoup et gâche le plaisir de ce petit coin très tranquille (nous étions les seuls). Nous avons fait du feu de cheminée et du cocooning.
Ellen, la propriétaire est charmante. Mais il faut avoir l'honneteté de décrire précisement la location et son environnement.
