About this house rental
Buckingham Townhouse is perfect for families and small groups, you can even bring your dog! Refurbished in 2024, with an added shower room and patio area, comfy beds, beautiful bed linen, essentials ( tea, coffee), fast WiFi, and flat screen TV with free Netflix and an Xbox with plenty of games for extra entertainment, much thought has gone into setting up this property. Permit parking is also provided for 1 car.

Accommodation was superficially clean but underneath furniture and kitchen cupboards were obviously not cleaned regularly. We thought dishwasher was smelling but this not rectified by putting it through high heat wash.
I picked this rental as it said it had two toilets/bathrooms. When we arrived we found that top bathroom was a macerating unit with signs that this could only be used for urine. Not quite what we had been expecting but we would manage a weekend break.
Upstairs toilet/shower ended up out of use anyway as we had leaks from both of these units with water coming through downstairs ceilings. Prompt reply to first call about shower leak but we thought we’d manage with one downstairs bath/shower. No reply to email about toilet leak.
Not great having one toilet and shower for weekend. As previously mentioned bottom shower room was cold and a far walk during the night.
I did speak with York stays and they were going to update the description of this house in regards to toilet facilities- but not sure if that’s been done.
The property is in a quiet area and an ideal spot for exploring York.
Beds and pillows were comfortable with fresh clean linen that led to good nights sleep.
I would recommend this property for its location to York city centre.

Cosy and clean house with 3 fine bedrooms (beds a bit narrow for 2 people) and 2 good bathrooms. Location is really super. You walk straight into the centre. X-box fine for the kids. Definitely recommend!

The house was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. Parking is a bit of a challenge as there is no designated parking space and we found that on some days the poor parking by other residents meant there was not enough room for us to park on the street.

The property was lovely especially the living area downstairs and an excellent location for the city centre. The only major downfall was the bathroom with the only functioning toilet was downstairs beyond the kitchen. The toilet on the first floor could not be used. This made it very difficult with five people and lots of stairs!
