Douglas hotel is linked to the Burnett Arms across the road. Nice Indian restuarant on groud floor. No breakfast as such - though you could go across to the Burnett Hotel also cafes nearby.
In principle the check-in an room door lock system should work simply enough. However, I fould that my room (8) lock said 'locked' but it wasn't. A few minor niggles in the room e.g. the shower head didn't really fit the holder. Otherwise it was fine and met my needs.

The hotel accommodation was still a work in progress. It only officially opened at 3:00 p.m. on the day of our arrival. Needless to say, we had approximately 2 hours to wait to get (No.7) to our room.
Stairways are not suitable for older people, the corridors are extremely narrow. No mirror in the bathroom. No hot water on the first day, sink partially blocked. No 13 amp sockets available to charge your phones! Their Restaurant was, however, 100%.

Location was perfect and staff friendly
Took 3-4 mins for hot water to come through the tap, but I’m scraping the barrel to complain about that.
