Lovely staff; great location near the main stations and city; charming hotel with artisan touches like beautiful bannisters and stained glass windows.we had a view of the church. Comfortable room, good value for money. Would stay again.

The location is a short walk from La Grand Place and various transport links (buses, metro), the area is clean and safe. The room was petite but we feel like you don't need much space anyway, after all most people will only sleep in their room and spend time exploring. The room was clean and had everything you need to fulfil your needs.
The walls were thin as we were awoken by our neighbour's alarm and the light did creep in through the curtain edges which kept us up further after the alarm.

The hotel is in a great location and the area is very quiet, which made the stay very comfortable. Communication with the reception was easy and smooth. There is also a parking garage just a few steps from the hotel, available with a hotel discount.
The building is quite old and the walls are thin, so sound insulation could be better.

The man on reception was extremely helpful, and should be commended in his help in the situation we found ourselves in. We did not stay after arriving at 10.30pm, as explained in what we did not like. The reason for the visit was to go to the Christmas market, the next day.
We arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm, after a 500 mile plus drive. (The one way system was a nightmare.) We were told to park in the multi story municipal car park about 300 yards from the hotel, as we got out of the car there was a stench of urine, and drug paraphernalia on the floor. We got our overnight stuff and proceeded to the lift, as the lift opened, three young lads were doing a drugs deal in the lift. They got out and we got in, before we could get the doors shut they got back in, and the lift was not very big. Feeling endangered, my wife got out and I followed, with the three youths shouting racist's at us until the lift doors shut. We went down the car ramps and proceeded to the hotel, and went to our room. My wife was so upset and concerned for our car being in one piece in the morning, we decided to leave. We went down to reception, and told the man on reception that we intended to leave, due to the situation. We were so scared of being robbed as we went back to the car park we left all our money and bank cards in the hotel reception locked in a case, and just took enough change to pay for the car park and the car keys. We walked up the ramp to the car park and we could hear male youths shouting in the car park, so we went back to the hotel. The receptionist at the hotel called the car park security, they cleared the car park and we went and collected our car, went back to the hotel to retrieve our case and left Lille. We never intend to go back there ever again, as we do not consider it to be a safe place to travel to, especially at night.
