Holly Trees room only accommodation

I liked the location, communication was great and it was very lovely and clean. I enjoyed my night.

The walls were very thin so you could hear everything but that can’t be helped so it wasn’t an issue.

This was a lovely stay in a great house. The room was delightful, pleasant and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the overall location close to all amenities. Walking sticks for guests were also available and greatly appreciated. Thank you for a great stop on our Northumberland adventure.

There was nothing not to like..

The Shepherd's Hut was perfect for our short break to Seahouses, located within a minutes walk of the city centre. We travelled as a couple and found the accommodation very cosy and well appointed. There were some lovely touches like a wood burning stove inside the hut and a firepit and seating areas in the garden. The hosts had left us some supplies which enabled us to make our own breakfasts which was an added unexpected bonus. Communication with the hosts was good and they replied to any messages almost immediately.

No negatives

Unfortunately the room was not up to expectations. The room didn’t feel welcoming. The on suite bathroom was out of order due to leaking pipes. We were asked to use a bathroom downstairs through our stay, it was not ideal as getting up in the night to use the toilet and having to go downstairs. Our bedroom carpet was very wet in the area of the bathroom. We had to put a luggage mat over it to keep our feet dry. When I looked at the carpet I could see that the whole carpet had been wet although that part had dried, however the room smelt. We had to keep our window open all of the time to help. I contacted the host who after three attempts answered. He came over to look at the floor, said that the pipe had leaked further and patted the carpet down with a towel and gave us a fabreeze spray. I believe that the bathroom issue had happened days before we arrived although we were only told the evening before we were due to arrive that we would have to use another bathroom. We didn’t expect though a wet smelly room. We didn’t see our host again after although he lived on the premises. I believe that I should be refunded for the stay.
