Boutique style.of the hotel. Location and amenities.
Staff were off, we figured out one shift was new, but night staff were only so attentive. They did well and didn't neglect us.

Generally everything was OK. I was at a conference nearby so didn't spend that much time in the hotel
Lack of catering in the afternoon and evening was a disappointment. Didn't realise the adjacent coffee shop closed at 2.00pm until I got there.
There were times when the room was quite noisy. Seemed like an adjacent door slamming or maybe water hammer in the pipework.
Wasn't aware that the rooms were not serviced on a daily basis. Didn't see that in any of the hotel literature. It was 3 days before my room was serviced. Not a huge deal but would have been nice to know.
The "fireplace" didn't seem to work no matter what I did with the remote or the switch. One of the ceiling lights seemed to be blown. The switches on the bedside lights are rather inaccessible.

This is a classic hotel of the early twentieth century. It’s important to remember that, and not be expecting a Hilton or Hyatt. The architecture is beautiful, the room dimensions grand, starting at the lobby. It is old in appearance BY DESIGN, and not for economic reasons. It puts you back in the era of flappers, or earlier. And it is perfectly kept and clean.

For over $230 I would expect to see something outside my window beside another wall and a roof with some sort of utilty.
