All the vending machines were out of service. I was told this after I put a $5 bill in, which they would not refund to me. I was told they don't have anything to do with the machines. I am Type 1 diabetic and had a low glucose episode and could get nothing to help from the machines. The lady at the front desk found a chocolate milk for me and when I recovered enough, I drove to a convenience store and got something to have on hand.
Someone needs to fix the vending machines. The pictures online didn't reflect the actual condition of the facilities. It was much fresher in the pictures, but well-worn in actuality. Some kind of alarm went off in our room about midnight. (Smoke alarm?) This is a non-smoking facility and we are non-smokers so we didn't know what this was. No answer from the front desk when we called. Alarm clock did not work so we just used our phone alarm to wake us for the funeral we were there to attend.
When we arrived to check in, half the facility was closed off due to broken pipe flooding that side of the parking lot, and yet when clerk gave us key , it was to a room on the flooded side where workmen were breaking up the pavement! I came back in to give her an opportunity to change the room to the unaffected side, which she did. We would have left and gone to the next town but we were already late to visitation and did not want to miss reading of the rosary service. This is a very small town and the convenience of the motel to the funeral home, church and cemetery were the factors for us booking here. Lesson learned.
