About this cottage rental

Bill's is an unpretentious but very welcoming traditional cottage. If you are looking for a property with a hot-tub and a cinema sized TV Bill's isn't for you but if you simply want a comfortable holiday home to relax in and as a base to explore the beauties of Bodmin Moor and the spectacular Cornish coast we hope it will be just your cup of tea.
We have recently installed Broadband WIFI to which you will have unlimited free access.
If you are planning a winter visit we have upgraded the central heating from "OK" to "toasty" - there is also an open fire in the lounge.

Bill's is located in Tregoodwell, a small hamlet on the edge of Bodmin Moor, just a 10 minute walk from Camelford where you will find shops, an inexpensive car park (free for the first two hours and in the evening), a pretty park with a childrens' playground, an award winning fish & chip shop and a great pub serving local beers and excellent home cooked food.

Walkers and bird watchers will love Bodmin Moor – beautiful in all weathers. Trebarwith Strand, one of North Cornwall's most spectacular sandy beaches, can be reached in less than 10 minutes by car. The beach is popular with surfers -you can hire boards and wetsuits from the little beach shop - but there are rock pools to explore too. If the tide is in there's a pub on the cliff top which is the perfect place to watch the sun slipping below the horizon in the evening.

Tintagel, famous for King Arthur's Castle, and Boscastle are both fairly local and deserve a visit. Padstow, Port Issac – the location for Doc Martin, The Eden Project, Watergate Bay and the Bodmin and Wenford steam railway are all within easy reach as are many other attractions. Poldark fans will enjoy a day out to Charlestown the location for harbour scenes - lovely tall ships are usually in the harbour and there is a fascinating shipwreck museum. The area even has its own vineyard and Camel Valley wines can be reached in about half an hour. Port Issac, the setting for Doc Martin is also easy to reach. If you fancy a break from driving the 95 bus will take you to Tintagel, Boscastle, Widemouth Bay and Bude. Best to check times with a quick google - "95 bus Camelford to Bude"

Bill's was built well over 200 years ago but there is a modern extension containing a large twin- bedded room and a large kitchen with a washing machine, tumble drier, cooker, fridge and microwave. There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bedroom with bunk beds – much loved by children. There is a comfortable lounge with an open fireplace and a separate dining room. The back garden, which overlooks farm land, is enclosed and catches the sun for most of the day.

Bill's has its own garage for one car but, to be honest, you won't get a people carrier in there.

Guests pay for the electricity they use (at cost). We do not supply bed linen (all beds have duvets, bedspreads and pillows) or towels but if you are travelling from overseas and have a limited luggage allowance please contact us and we will see if we can help. Dogs are very welcome at Bill's and there is no additional cleaning charge for pets.

We hope that you will choose Bill's for your Cornish holiday and that you will have a wonderful time.

Bill's cottage was a lovely, quiet location with easy walk in to Camelford where there's a pub, take aways and shops. Hosts were really informative about what to expect and how everything worked and really kind. There were lots of additional lovely touches like a hamper on arrival and the open fire was wonderful while we played board games from the cottage. There are so many lovely beaches within 15 minutes drive and of course the awesome Tintagel. We had a really wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend. Thank you.

Bills Cottage is now our Second Home, everything about it we love, even to the point we never want to go home!

We really enjoyed Camelford. The cabin is mostly as described, has everything you need, cozy beds, well functioning kitchen, cute little garden etc. Getting there was a little tricky because of the size of our rental van and the tiny roads and we had the bad luck of Camelford main roads being under construction the whole time, so a lot of detours. Unfortunately my husband and daughter had some trouble with their allergies inside the house (dust/mold?) so that made it a little less comfortable for them, but I imagine the age of the house is to blame for that, not the cleanliness. What might be good to know is that one of the upstairs rooms (bunk bed) is a walk through to the third bed room. It was okay for us but might not be ideal for every group. Communication with Jan was perfect, very easy, helpful, timely and practical- thank you!! She made sure we got bedding and parking for our van and all descriptions were very clear and uncomplicated. Camelford is a great affordable option to explore Cornwall, doable distance to everywhere. We enjoyed it very much!

Our visit of cornwall was as beautiful as expected. We had a cottage with all what we needed and could visit many scenic places. It is situated in the middle of beautiful landscape for easy walks and many places to visit. Thank you to the hosts to give us the possibility of visiting your place.
