Breakfast was great, and the person bringing out the food was so sweet. She let me know that more eggs were coming out soon in case I wanted some. The room was clean and had a little window nook to sit and relax in. I didn't sit in it, but my daughter loved it. Some reviewers commented that the rooms were small. Sure, ours *felt* a little small, but it also had two queen beds. If we had a one bed situation, it would have been perfect.
This is probably only our room, but it drove me nuts. (Parents will understand.)
The bed closest to the bathroom had a weird *metallic* sound it made almost every time I moved. Specifically, the side next to the wall. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it so much if I wasn't worried about waking up my kid (or the people in the room next to ours) in the middle of the night. The first time it happened, I thought someone banged something in the bathroom. Then I thought maybe there was a vent next to the bed that made funny furnace sounds (if you've ever been in an older home, you know what I mean). Then I realized it was the bed itself. The other bed didn't do this when I went and tested it, so it wasn't me (if that's what you're thinking). I was too tired to really investigate it and I couldn't really do much without moving the bed (which I was not going to do), so I just tried not to move when I went to bed.
Microtel, I know it seems like a minor thing, but you should check it out. It didn't occur to me at the time, but that noise could be indicating a potential safety issue. Either way, it might be time to change it out.

We enjoyed the location as it was a bit out of town. We looked out over a field…not other close buildings. The breakfast was average…would have appreciated real oatmeal instead of packets.
The carpets in the rooms and elevator were very soiled. It would be so much better with no carpet…dirty carpet makes the whole room feel unclean. Not the fault of the housekeepers.
