In the middle of a renovation

The Holiday Inn was within walking distance of the River Walk district and Convention Center. Parking was free and in a safe enclosed lot. The room had a wonderful little kitchenette with microwave and mini fridge also.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel. It was perfect and the staff were wonderful. My only issue was the nearby railroad tracks on the walk to the convention center that cross Commerce Street at this location. I was stopped by the train four times walking to the convention center. In fact, on the morning of the Alamo Marathon, I was stopped by both a freight train and Amtrak train parked on the tracks stretching a mile in either direction. I discovered a tunnel under the tracks about a quarter mile away on Montana Street and made it to the start of the marathon with only a few minutes to spare.

Staff was friendly room was clean location was great
The construction they have going on made my allergies act up, and the hot water was coming out white and slimy. The restroom feels cramped, with not a lot of space.
