Travelodge by Wyndham Downtown Chicago

Large room, comfortable beds, and convenient location.

Parking was expensive with no in/out privileges. The water pressure in the shower was just ok.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights to attend a Conference nearby, and I am very happy I chose this place. It is located in an old Chicago building in the Loop, within walking distance from train stations such as Jackson (Blue/Red line) or Harrison (Red Line). Somehow, I was upgraded to a double-king bedroom with ample space, a nice desk, a small refrigerator, and two big windows that provided great daylight. In short, my room was better than expected, as I was able to work from my laptop whenever necessary after enjoying long walks in the area. I also must say that the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I have no complaints. I enjoyed the somewhat austere, vintage atmosphere of the spacious room, which also featured a nice bathroom with large mirrors and amenities such as a wooden dresser, an iron, and an ironing board.

Hotel was easy to get to and very clean. Room was large and comfortable. Richard (morning staff) was fabulous. He attempted to get us a taxi in the morning, and did a great job after a few hiccups. Kudos to him for following through and helping us.

Hector might need more training. He said he would order us a wakeup call for the morning; we didn't get one. He said he would send someone from maintenance "right away". We waited for an hour and no one showed up. We left to go eat, and when we got back, our a/c unit was working. He needs to communicate better with guests.

Location is the best!

Reception asked our 7 rooms to pay deposit by card. It takes a while. Transaction still gets into account after 3 weeks. Another thing is they switched on generator on corridor just near our room. We asked to turn off at least during the night. They did not. They understood like we wanted to change. We were asked to get another floor. There was an another generator as well. Too noisy.
