The Neighborhood:
Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, is the setting for Winston Graham's Poldark novels. Perranporth has traditional pubs, shops, and a bucket-and-spade beach with craggy rocks and a coastal path. The community, once known for its tin, still has abandoned pump houses, mine shafts, and workers' cottages. Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum can help you learn about the area's history. Crantock and Holywell Bay have miles of sandy beaches and National Trust-owned coastal walks. A perfect Cornwall holiday base with plenty to do.
