There are two double bedrooms, serviced by a bathroom. Outside there is a front garden with lawn and bench, a rear garden with lawn, patio, furniture and a shed for secure bike storage, and off-road parking for one car. Sorry, no smoking and no pets. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. You'll find a shop in 4.1 miles, and a pub and River Tees in 0.1 miles. Appletree Cottage offers a delightful base for a family break to Durham. Note: The gardens are not enclosed; please be aware. Note: There are steps in the rear garden; please take care. The Neighborhood:
Gainford is a charming village located in Teesdale near the border with Yorkshire, on the River Tees. The community is adjacent to breath-taking waterfalls, expansive moorlands, and stunning castles. It features a scattering of Georgian homes situated on an unspoiled village green, as well as a newsstand/general store, fish and chip shop, and bar. A Michelin-starred restaurant is also easily accessible from the village, providing the option for a fine dining experience. There are other old market towns in the region, including Barnard Castle, which is close by and boasts castle ruins that overlook the town as well as the spectacular Bowes Museum.
