About this hotel

Standing proud amidst Herefordshire's most beautiful rolling countryside, close to the Shropshire border, The Folly was commissioned to Raymond Erith (known for his innovative and modernist approach to post-war architecture, including the reconstruction of 10 Downing Street) in 1963 to design this Neoclassical beauty for the family, who remain the owners to this day.

The tower's circular turret houses the majority of the cosy living space, including the curved formal sitting room with a wood burning stove and elegant furnishings; a dining room; snug/conservatory; and entrance foyer on the ground floor, with its winding spiral staircase leading to the upper floors. Still within the main turret, the first of two double en-suite bedrooms is accessed via the spiral steps on the first floor; with a further ascent to the second floor to another en-suite bedroom - both with exceptional views. A single-storey extension accessed through the snug/conservatory includes the homely kitchen complete with Aga, a generous laundry room, and a third double bedroom with access to the ground floor bathroom.

Enjoy the breath-taking views from the west-facing, enclosed garden and terrace, where garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue are provided to make the most of this unique location.

Oozing with neoclassical romance, this dog-friendly, three bedroom/three bathroom architectural masterpiece enjoys magnificent and far-reaching views all the way to Wales. Despite feeling a hundred miles from civilisation, historic and foodie Ludlow is just 8 miles away, with Leominster and its plethora of antique shops and eateries nearby too. For something truly special and unique, The Folly does not disappoint.
