Town: The tiny village of Ennerdale rests among the rolling hills and small farms of pretty Cumbrian countryside, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, just a few miles from the coast. The River Ehen runs through the village, with a stone bridge dividing Ennerdale into two halves. On the northern side are the village school and a pub, whilst the southern side is home to the parish church and a second pub. There are lovely footpaths trailing through the surrounding countryside, across fields and fells of the wild Ennerdale Valley and there are great opportunities for mountain biking, walking and horse riding. This area is rich in flora and fauna and there is also an outdoor pursuits centre at the top of the valley, available if you book in advance. Ambleside, Keswick and Windermere are all easily reached, whilst the many beautiful lakes of this stunning location can also be enjoyed.
