If you wish to explore beyond the Black Forest, the Markgräflerland and Kaiserstuhl offer rolling vineyards and local wine taverns. A trip by train or car to Basel, Switzerland’s cultural capital, or a day excursion to Alsace, France, is also highly recommended.
