Tucked in the sleepy hamlet of Littleham, this 18th-century farmhouse offers an enticing escape to the country. Set in picturesque countryside, it’s just 3 miles from the historic riverside town of Bideford and 5 miles from the coastal resort by Westward Ho! Beach. Sleeping nine guests across five bedrooms, it’s ideal for extended families and groups of friends seeking a tranquil base with easy access to a range of attractions and amenities.
Combining historic charm with contemporary comforts, this two-storey farmhouse exudes rustic charm with a few elegant touches. With exposed brickwork, a beamed ceiling and a warming wood burner, the cosy lounge sets the scene for relaxation at the end of adventurous days. A country-style kitchen with a double oven is perfect for preparing meals for a crowd, before gathering in the atmospheric dining room for memorable mealtimes, wood burner lit on chilly days. Upstairs, five bedrooms invite a restful slumber, all beautifully appointed in a country style. There’s a king-size with en-suite, two super-king-size rooms, one of which can be made up as a twin upon request, then a further twin and a single room. A family bathroom, ground-floor wet room and utility room offer comfort and convenience. Outside, revel in the delightful country views from the grassy garden or slip into the hot tub to bubble beneath the stars. A games barn offers table tennis along with toys for smaller children, and there’s private parking for five cars.
Littleham has a variety of trails and tracks to explore on foot or by bike. Venture to Bideford (3 miles) to browse boutiques, wander along the riverside and explore galleries and museums. For a traditional day at the seaside, head to Westward Ho! to swim in the sea pool, surf the waves, potter in rock pools and stroll along the sandy shore.
