The cottage lies within a designated Dark Sky area and an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – just perfect for star gazing at night and unmissable!
The surrounding Ystwyth Valley is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along the River Ystwyth. Wildlife is abundant, with regular sightings of red kites, herons, and kingfishers – the area is rich in unspoilt scenery and countryside.
Aberystwyth lies 20 minutes to the north with its Victorian promenade and seaside treats. You can eat chips on the prom or spend a day in the arcade and eating ice cream The town is home to a great selection of independent shops, cosy cafés, and welcoming pubs, alongside cultural highlights such as the National Library of Wales and the historic Aberystwyth Castle. Take in the sea views form Constitution Hill with it’s a historic funicular (cliff) railway that carries visitors up the steep hill from the promenade to the summit.
To the south lies Aberaeron a pretty Georgian harbour town om Cardigan Bay with its colourful houses and charming waterfront. It also has many independent shops and is well know for its variety of restaurants and cafes making it a culinary gem in the heart of Ceredigion.
The Cottage is an ideal base for exploring this remarkable region, with nearby highlights including the Hafod Estate, the Rheidol Valley, Devil’s Bridge, the Elan Valley and its lakes, Strata Florida Abbey, and the Cambrian Mountains. The Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail is also close by, with Coed y Bont in Pontrhydfendigaid being the nearest Dark Sky Discovery Site.
Perfectly placed for walkers, cyclists, and couples craving a proper escape, with stunning places to explore all around.

ACCOMMODATION
The Cottage sleeps 2 adults in a double bed on a mezzanine floor accessed by a space-saver staircase.
UPSTAIRS
Mezzanine bedroom: double bed, bedside tables and drawers - please note, there is restricted headroom 6-foot max.
DOWNSTAIRS
Sitting room: sofa, armchair, Sky TV, log burner and oak floor with rugs
Dining area: table seating 4
Kitchen: halogen hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee maker and selection of coffee, washing machine is available
Shower room: Generous walk in shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail, electric fan heater
OUTSIDE
Via a gate in the far corner of the field behind The Cottage, a path leads directly to the riverbank where you have fishing rights through Llanilar Angling Club to fish 15 miles of river right down to the sea for those who enjoy the tranquillity of a river and wish to fish. A complimentary club licence is available to guests on request (a small refundable deposit of £20 is required and is to be paid directly to the owner on arrival). You will also need your National Rod Licence.
There is a riverside secure garden, of approximately 1 acre across the road for you to enjoy, with outside dining area and garden furniture. A fire pit and a BBQ is also offered. Fenced garden, which is also suitable for pets to exercise. There is one parking space for your car in the car park, secure lock up for cycles, and parking for motorcycles.
